Steps For Shipment Tracking
Enter Your Tracking Number
You are provided with a container number or vessel number once you agree to do the shipment. After logging into Hapag-Lloyd’s website, click on the online business option. You will be displayed multiple options, like Schedules, Bookings, Documents, Import, Tracing, etc. Select on the Tracing and you will be provided with a box to enter your container no. After entering that, you need to click on the “Find” box below. Hapag Tracking is very fast and displays the information within a blink.
Shipment Details
After clicking on the Find box, you will be displayed the Shipping Details page carrying all the required information. From the top to the bottom, each section holds the necessary information and options, which are as follows:
Top Portion
The top portions display the following information:
- Booking Number – Your booking number is different from your container number or vessel number. It is provided on a serial basis.
- Reference – While booking for a shipment, if you provide any reference, his/her name is reflected over here.
- Cut Off Time – The time and date before loading of the container, or vessel is shown.
- Document Closure – This shows the time when the documents are checked last time and attached with your belongings.
Middle Portion
This portion is of importance as it shows the required information regarding the export and import. In the export section, you will be displayed with the following information:
- Pre carriage – It shows the mode of transport used and the type of container load. It is shown in an abbreviated form such as FCL (Full Container Load), or LCL (Less Container Load). For the mode of transport, RAMP indicates airways and PORT indicates seaways.
- Full Container Delivery (by Customer) at – It shows the name and address of the customer.
In the import section, pre-carriage is replaced by ‘on carriage’ and the pickup address is displayed.
Bottom Portion
The bottom portion of Hapag Tracking has a variety of options to connect and get more details of the shipment, which are as follows:
- Export Terminal – By clicking on this option, you get to connect with the people involved in the export. You can get the exact timings and the take-off and landing details.
- Import Terminal – It is the same as the export terminal where you will get to connect with the person concerned and information related to all the necessary timings.
- Shipping Instruction Details – When a sensitive item is shipped, there are certain precautions to be maintained. This is provided and taken care of by Hapag. But if you want to give your own input, you can do so by selecting this option.
